Charity Relay: November Dedicated to Ski Jumping

1 min read

#SztafetaCharytatywna continues its mission – supporting young talents in sports! 💚 November is dedicated to another exciting discipline – ski jumping. ⛷️

This extremely popular discipline in Poland originated in the first half of the 19th century in Norway. The first official competition in this discipline was held in 1870 in Oslo.

The world’s longest ski jump was made by the Austrian jumper Stefan Kraft in 2017. He jumped an incredible 253.5 meters! In ski jumping, jumpers receive points for style. Judges assess elements such as body posture, balance, control in flight, and landing technique. A high style score can significantly impact the jump’s result.

Poland has a long and rich history in ski jumping. Many legendary jumpers, such as Adam Małysz, Kamil Stoch, and Piotr Żyła, have gained immense popularity and won numerous world championship titles.

Joining the Charity Relay alongside Adam Małysz are also Maciej Kot and Stefan Hula!
